Welcome to Gentle Journey

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us.  We know that choosing a veterinarian to guide you and your pet through this tender stage of life is an incredibly personal decision, and we are deeply honored that you're considering us.  Our mission is simple: to walk beside you with compassion, clarity, and gentle care -ensuring your pet feels loved, safe, and comfortable every step of the way.

Why Choose Gentle Journey?

From the very beginning, our love for animals has been at the heart of everything we do. Our journey into veterinary medicine began at Weber State University, when Michelle adopted a sweet dog named Saida. She quickly became family and inspired us to dedicate our lives to caring for animals.

Years later, after veterinary school, Saida developed cancer. We made the difficult decision to help her pass peacefully—at home, surrounded by love. That experience was both deeply spiritual and profoundly gentle, and it forever shaped the way we view end-of-life care. We realized that every beloved pet deserves to say goodbye in the same way: with comfort, dignity, and peace.

Since 2017, we have been offering home hospice and euthanasia services, helping families provide a gentle passing for their companions in the familiarity of home. On average, we support 2–3 families each week, and time after time, we see how much calmer, more meaningful, and more peaceful these moments are when they happen where pets feel safest.

While clinics can be places of healing, nothing compares to the love and security of home. This is why we consider this work not just our profession, but our calling: to walk alongside families during this tender season, and to provide compassionate, peaceful transitions for the pets who have given us so much love.

TESTIMONIALS

We recently made the most difficult decision to send our sweet dog over the Rainbow Bridge after many years of loyalty and love . Doctor Palmer guided us through this harrowing experience with patience, care and compassion. We requested an at-home service and on the day, Doctor Palmer stayed in phone contact until his arrival well past his end of day. He explained each and every part of what he was going to do and what would happen. I highly recommend Doctor Palmer and admire his obvious affinity with animals.

I had to have my beloved best friend Star put to sleep. Not because I wanted it. Had I had a better option I never would have. But Morgan, Dr. Wynn Palmer and a staff member I can't remember seeing her name tag. All were so very kind to me and showed kindness as I cried and said bye to my best friend and companion who had been with me three years but had been my everything on a hard journey this past year.

Never in my life have I had such a caring veterinarian that went above and beyond to make an informed decision about my elderly cat. Dr. Palmer is informative, patient, and truly had my fur baby’s best interest at heart. The support staff is incredible and I cannot thank them enough for the kindness they have extended to us during this time.

I have taken my 11-year-old pomeranian to Dr. Palmer at Animal Care Roy since he was 10 weeks. Over the past 11 years, Dr. Palmer has always been kind, thorough, and informative. We moved to SLC about 6 years ago, and we still continue to make the drive to Roy to see Dr. Palmer and the incredible staff at Anmial Care Roy. My pup was diagnosed with diabetes about a year ago and, since then, our visits have become much more frequent. Dr. Palmer takes the best care of my sweet pup, and we are so lucky to have a vet who shows as much care and concern for our dog as Dr. Palmer.

My daughter recommended Dr. Palmer to my husband and me after we moved here to Riverdale jist recently. Our 12 year old diabetic cat, Kirk, sustained a broken leg that, at best, might heal in time after a very involved surgery. With our kitty's advanced diabetes, we made the decision to let him go peacefully without the pain of surgery and a long recovery.Dr. Palmer took us right in after the diagnosis of the broken leg and was incredibly compassionate. He gave us plenty of time to visit with Kirk and say our goodbyes to him before the procedure started. We couldn't have hoped for a more informative and knowledgeable vet than Dr. Palmer to help us do what we dreaded to do. It appeared to be such a peaceful transition for our beloved Kirk. We sincerely appreciate Dr. Palmer and his wonderful staff and would highly recommend him to others!

I had recently moved to the area and found this vet clinic near my new residence. The first vet to see my dog was nice, but she seemed almost robotic or too clinical. I'm sure she loves animals, but the feeling didn't come across during the visit. I decided to give the clinic a second chance and could not be happier. Dr. Wynn Palmer is easily the most compassionate vet I've ever had the pleasure to meet. Between his compassion and his obvious knowledge, I can honestly say I feel confident in the care my dog receives being the best and most comprehensive available. I have happily brought my puppers in to see him ever since.Thank you, Dr. Wynn, for showing that it isn't all about the money, but instead, about the health and well being of our beloved animal friends.

Dr. Palmer was the Vet who came to our house to put our Rottweiler Dodge down. Having this service is one of the best things a Vet clinic can have. This was one of the hardest decisions my husband and I have ever had to make. Having Dr Palmer come to our house made it comforting knowing our fur baby would pass in the comfort of our own home. Dr Palmer was very personable and showed that he cared and understood the heartache. He gave us some beautiful flowers and yummy chocolates too. Thank you Dr Plamer for everything.

Dr Palmer helped us when we were in the very vulnerable position of putting our 19 year old cat to sleep, and he couldn't have been more thoughtful and empathetic throughout the whole process. He. Was. Incredible. We've found the office as a whole to be kind, straightforward, and so caring to us and our elderly boy. We will always be happy to bring our furry littles to this office, where we know they will receive excellent care. Thank you!

Our family needed to find a place to put our sweet 16-year old Ebony to sleep. Dr. Wynn Palmer was compassionate, patient, and so tender with our girl throughout the entire process. We are all so grateful for his understanding of our suffering as we took this very difficult step, and for his willingness to give us the time we needed with our dog to say our final good byes. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Wynn always remembered and loved my cat Freeloader. It means so much to me though Freeloader got ill and had to cross the rainbow bridge. In hindsight I am so thankful for him and his genuine concern and love for my best friend that my eyes leak. I couldn't have had a better Vet.
